INTRODUCTION & CONTENTS
HOW CAN WE BE SURE WE HAVE THE GENUINE SAVING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST? What does the inspired evidence say about our salvation? Not what a preacher says but what does God say? Many sermons speak on the signs of the times and our need to be ready, then they finish with, “Get ready, Get ready!” But there has been a deafening silence on how to get ready. People are left to assume this or that.
Here are the Bible's seven steps to heaven for any seeking human being. The Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy are both very clear on our urgent, specific instructions for this time. 7 Steps to Heaven is a manual for the revival of God’s last day remnant people. It explains how we are to wake up with the three angels messages of Revelation 14. To then fulfil our destiny in giving the Elijah message to the world!
The 7 steps are the practical application of the divine pattern of the New Testament sanctuary, which is the fulfilment of the prophecies and types of the Old Testament. This way is not some humanly devised scheme but it comes from heaven itself. The steps to heaven make up the way of God's redemption plan that is commonly only partially taught. They are the “How” to have the transforming New Covenant experience, enabling God to write His laws in our hearts and minds.
The seven-year-long study that led to this publication has revealed precious but dusty jewels from the Bible. These practical teachings are for God's remnant people now to be prepared for their translation to heaven. Enoch and Elijah walked with God like this before being translated to heaven without seeing death.
Christ came to change the current of men's thoughts and affections. 1T 196 – For our greater love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. The right thinking and heart transformation taught by the Bible and reflected by sister Ellen White is to present to the world the ultimate solution for balanced mental and emotional health. This is what people need now more desperately than ever before.
But starting and sticking to any real resolution to change for the better is a major challenge. As a man thinketh so is he, Proverbs 23:7. It is not past or present events that make us feel like we do, but rather how we interpret these events. The science of Christianity from the Bible gives us the amazing solutions for our transformation.
The Omega Rebellion, a book by Rick Howard published in 2010, warned of the dangers of spiritualism and Eastern meditation but it failed to articulate the characteristics of true Christian meditation. 7 Steps delineates the specific boundaries of biblical Christian meditation.
Matthew taught to watch and pray; Peter to gird up the loins of the mind and be vigilant; John, abiding in Jesus and He in us, that God is love; Paul, the necessary mindset in the spirit not in the flesh. Christ in His Sermon on the Mount taught of our accountability for our thoughts as well as our actions; Revelation's Battle of Armageddon is less about tanks and rockets in the Middle East than it is about the battle for our minds.
The subject of the sanctuary was the key which... opened to view a complete system of truth, connected and harmonious... revealing present duty as it brought to light the position and work of His people. GC 423. Thy way O God is in the sanctuary, Psalm 77:13. The Sanctuary incorporates many levels of God’s wisdom but the focus here is to present its daily practical applications for our salvation.
The Bible speaks of three sanctuaries: The Ancient Hebrew Sanctuary/Temple, the Heavenly Sanctuary described in Revelation, and the Soul Temple of the human body/mind described by the apostles. The first two point to the third in the renewing our minds by following the steps in the divine pattern of redemption. From eternal ages it was God's purpose that every created being, from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the indwelling of the Creator. DA 161.
God leaves the choice with each one of us. To zealously repent and wake up, or, to continue as we are, in the wretched state of the man of Romans 7 – doing the things we would not and not doing the things we would. We will always have the choice to follow His will or our own. Through these steps to heaven His will may become our will like the converted man of Romans 8.
There are two versions of the gospel presented in Matthew 7:13,14 and in the world’s churches today. One is a popular, soothing wide door that leads to destruction. The other is an unpopular, narrow door that leads to life, and few will find it! Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:14 NKJV.
God describes us modern Christians in Revelation 3 as blind to our true position and naked, missing the garment of Christ’s righteousness. We tend to follow church traditions and men’s laws rather than the clear instructions from God in the Bible or the Spirit of Prophecy. If we draw closer to God in the way He has ordained our heart will be changed, and an experience of righteousness by faith will dawn in our conscience. Jesus Christ will have become our compass and the yoke of His cross will have truly become light. Then we will have more joy in doing His will than not, and our thoughts will cleanse themselves.

A UNIQUELY INFORMED PERSPECTIVE – Stephen Hill was an active Buddhist for twenty years. He was proficient in the Tibetan Kagyu and Burmese styles of meditation before he converted to Christianity in 2010. He has an acute sense of where Christian meditation may cross the border into vulnerability to the malign spiritual influences of Satan's angels. Therefore, he is in a unique position to comment on the vast differences between David's and Milarepa's meditations.
AS AN EXPERIENCED EDUCATOR, his writing makes complicated concepts practical and easy to understand.
AS AN ARTIST – Stephen has been inspired by the beautiful creation around us in the book of nature, and captivated by Revelation’s scenes of the heavenly sanctuary above. He delights in the training from the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy for his imagination and thoughts of the heart, to be conformed to God's principles, very precious, and he loves sharing this treasure with others.
